I remember one day in high school, John and his close friend Carl Newhart stopped by my house on Mangrove to ask if I could go with them to John's house. The reason was John was learning to sing a new song and was having problems with the words. My role was to listen to the words, write them down in shorthand and transcribe them for John. I thought that was a great idea and was happy to help out. I do not remember the song, but would recognize it if I heard it. It was a fun challenge and I enjoyed spending time with two handsome, nice guys! It is interesting the things we remember.
