Gerald G. Swanson, 69, of Chester, California passed away September 5, 2020.

Jerry was born in Chico May 3, 1951. His family owned a 20-acre almond orchard. They Also sold chickens and eggs and had large vegetable gardens, fruit, and nut trees. He Graduated from Chico High School In 1969. 

Jerry joined the U.S. Navy and became a jet airplane mechanic. The USS Kittyhawk was one of the aircraft carriers he sailed. After the Vietnam War he returned to Chico eventually making sheet metal his career. 

After his marriage to Kaye Todd in 1981 he had a son. Eric. They family including big brother Neil, moved to the coast for 14 years. Fishing the ocean in his own boat was great. He also learned to play golf. 

He retired to Chester in Plumas County in 2003. He enjoyed many years of golf and loved small town living.

His wife and sons now reside in Chico. He has one sister, Helen Preston in Montana.
